Pura Muñoz-Cánoves

The main focus of the Muñoz-Cánoves group’s research is the molecular mechanisms underlying muscle function in both normal and disease conditions. The team studies the molecular regulation of genesis, activation, proliferation and differentiation of muscle stem cells during adult muscle regeneration and growth. They have expertise in models for muscular diseases such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy, as well as muscle regeneration and nerve-muscle interactions.
