Giulio Cossu

Giulio Cossu’s group has been working for a number of years on the signals and mechanisms that regulate the formation of skeletal muscle during embryonic development. They have identified and characterised mesoangioblasts, a type of stem cell that could be used for cell therapy of muscular dystrophies. The lab is involved in planning clinical trials based on this work.
